Author(s): Mrs. Naina SinhaAbstract
This paper examines the complex relationship between globalization and cultural identity with a comparative focus on how different societies respond to the pressures of cultural homogenization and hybridization. Globalization driven by economic liberalization technological advances and transnational communication has blurred boundaries across nations creating a global culture of interconnectedness. However this process has also raised concerns regarding the erosion of cultural traditions local identities and community-based practices. While some scholars view globalization as a force that threatens cultural diversity others interpret it as an opportunity for cultural hybridity innovation and cross-cultural exchange. This study compares experiences from India Europe and Latin America to demonstrate how cultural identity is negotiated contested and reshaped in a globalized world. It argues that globalization neither simply erases nor preserves cultural identity but transforms it into new forms of expression and resilience.
