A Study on Awareness about Right to Education Act 2009 among Teachers Teaching in Elementary Schools in District Muzaffarnagar Uttar Pradesh

Education has been considered as one of the vital mile stone in all round development of any nation in the world. Hence strenuous efforts have been made in our country for achieving the universalization of elementary education particularly for children between the ages 6-14 years up to class VIII. A number of scheme policies and programmes have been undertaken by Govt of India. Right to Education (RTE) Act 2009 is one of the very important Initiatives taken among them containing numerous provisions pertaining to the role of teachers parents government infrastructure facilities and distance between in schools to make the elementary education universalized and cost free. The Act has been implemented throughout the country. Muzaffarnagar is one of the districts of Uttar Pradesh having average literacy rate i.e. approximately 71 percent. It is quite essential to know that after passing more than a decade since implementation of the act how it has benefited to the needy children. The present research paper has been dealing with the awareness of teachers teaching in elementary schools of district Muzaffarnagar Uttar Pradesh about RTE Act 2009.
