ADDRESSING POVERTY ENSURING FOOD SECURITY AND IMPLEMENTING DEVELOPMENT GOALS POST-2015

Abstract
The post-2015 global development agenda articulated primarily through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) emphasizes the eradication of poverty ensuring food security and promoting equitable socio-economic development. This research paper examines the multidimensional strategies adopted by governments international organizations and civil society to address these challenges highlighting both successes and persistent obstacles. The study employs secondary data from international reports government publications and peer-reviewed literature dated before 2021 to contextualize the implementation of policies programs and technological innovations in food production poverty alleviation and rural development. Key findings reveal that integrated approaches combining social protection schemes agricultural interventions nutritional programs and inclusive economic policies have shown measurable impact on poverty reduction and food access though disparities remain between regions particularly in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. The research further explores the role of governance institutional capacity and policy coherence in determining the effectiveness of SDG implementation. Case studies from countries such as India Brazil and Ethiopia illustrate diverse pathways of success and the challenges of scaling interventions. Additionally the paper analyzes the intersection of poverty alleviation and food security with other development dimensions including education gender equality and climate resilience. The findings underscore that while substantial progress has been made systemic barriers—including resource constraints climate vulnerability and socio-economic inequalities—continue to hinder full realization of development goals. By synthesizing evidence from multiple contexts this study provides insights into effective strategies for achieving post-2015 development objectives and offers recommendations for policy formulation program design and stakeholder collaboration.
