AN ANALYSIS OF INTEGRAL HUMANISM IN THE CONTEMPORARY INDIAN CONTEXT

Integral Humanism conceptualized by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya in the 1960s represents a socio-political and economic philosophy that emphasizes the holistic development of human beings integrating material intellectual cultural and spiritual dimensions. In the contemporary Indian context post-2021 studies highlight the increasing relevance of Integral Humanism in guiding policy formulation governance frameworks socio-economic development and cultural integration. This research examines the philosophical foundations of Integral Humanism its operationalization in contemporary policy initiatives and its implications for social equity economic growth and sustainable development. The study employs a multi-dimensional analysis integrating scholarly literature government policy documents socio-economic indicators and case studies to evaluate the impact of Integral Humanism on contemporary Indian society. Findings indicate that the principles of Integral Humanism including prioritization of human welfare balanced development decentralization ethical governance and cultural integrity provide valuable insights for addressing modern challenges such as economic disparities social fragmentation environmental sustainability and governance inefficiencies. The research also explores the intersection of Integral Humanism with current political discourse development policies and community-based initiatives emphasizing its applicability in achieving inclusive growth ethical governance and human-centric development. Recommendations focus on embedding the philosophy’s principles into contemporary policy frameworks education systems governance mechanisms and socio-economic development strategies thereby enhancing the holistic well-being of Indian citizens in the post-2021 socio-political and economic landscape.
