AN EXAMINATION OF THE PRESENT STATE OF AFFAIRS IN THE INDUSTRIES OF BIHAR

The industrial sector in the Indian state of Bihar has undergone various changes over recent decades shaped by historical developments policy decisions infrastructural challenges and socio-economic dynamics. Despite possessing significant human resources and raw-material potential Bihar’s industrial growth has remained uneven and constrained by structural weaknesses such as inadequate infrastructure limited capital investment infrastructural bottlenecks weak supply-chain linkages and regulatory hurdles. This study examines the current state of affairs of industries in Bihar by analysing the distribution of industrial establishments sector-wise performance employment generation output levels and challenges faced by industries in both traditional and emerging sectors. Through secondary data analysis of government records industrial registries and economic surveys along with primary field-level interviews and questionnaires with industry stakeholders the research aims to provide a comprehensive picture of industrial health in Bihar. The findings will highlight key trends underlying structural constraints sectoral disparities and potential areas for policy intervention thereby offering actionable insights for stakeholders and policymakers interested in industrial revitalization and sustainable growth in the region.
