Author(s): Dr. Shiv Shambhu UpadhyayAbstract
Value Engineering (VE) is a systematic structured methodology aimed at improving product functionality reducing unnecessary costs and enhancing overall value without compromising quality. Post-2021 studies highlight that the application of the Value Engineering Job Plan (VEJP) method provides a framework for systematically analyzing products identifying cost drivers and implementing design modifications that optimize performance and customer satisfaction. This research paper investigates the application of the VEJP method in various industrial sectors including manufacturing electronics automotive and consumer goods emphasizing its role in enhancing product quality reducing material and production costs and promoting innovation. By reviewing recent literature industrial case studies and empirical analyses the study evaluates the effectiveness of the VEJP approach in identifying functional priorities generating alternative solutions and implementing cost-effective design improvements. The paper also examines the integration of VEJP with modern tools such as computer-aided design (CAD) simulation software and lifecycle assessment techniques to ensure systematic evaluation and decision-making. Post-2021 research demonstrates that VEJP enhances cross-functional collaboration improves product lifecycle management and supports sustainable production practices making it a vital strategy for contemporary industrial operations seeking efficiency innovation and competitiveness.
