Abstract
Urban environmental crises such as floods heatwaves air pollution episodes water scarcity and climate-induced disasters have become increasingly common in cities worldwide. These crises often expose the limitations of formal governance systems and emergency response mechanisms making community resilience and informal support networks essential for effective crisis management. Community resilience refers to the capacity of individuals and communities to adapt recover and transform in the face of environmental challenges. Informal support networks including family members neighbors friends local groups and community-based organizations play a crucial role in providing emotional social and material assistance during emergencies. This study examines the significance of community resilience and informal support systems in enhancing urban adaptability during environmental crises. The research highlights how social trust collective action local knowledge and mutual aid contribute to disaster preparedness and recovery. The study further explores the challenges faced by vulnerable populations and emphasizes the need for integrating informal networks into urban environmental governance and resilience-building strategies.
