COMPARING THE MENTAL HEALTH OF TEACHERS IN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS

Abstract
The mental health of teachers has increasingly become a critical concern in the education sector due to the growing demands workload and societal expectations placed on educators. Teaching is recognized as a high-stress profession and the differences in organizational structures resources administrative support and student demographics between public and private schools may influence teachers’ psychological well-being. This research paper aims to investigate and compare the mental health status of teachers employed in public versus private schools exploring the prevalence of stress anxiety burnout depression and overall life satisfaction. The study employs quantitative methods using standardized psychological assessment tools to collect data on multiple dimensions of mental health. In addition demographic variables such as age gender years of experience and educational qualifications are considered to examine their impact on mental health outcomes. By statistically analyzing differences between the two groups this study identifies factors contributing to mental health disparities and provides insights into strategies for intervention support systems and policy measures aimed at promoting teachers’ psychological resilience. This comparative research holds significance for education administrators policymakers and mental health professionals ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of educational institutions while prioritizing teacher well-being.
