Author(s): Mithun PatelAbstract
The integration of Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) technologies in web-based information systems has revolutionized data collection spatial analysis decision-making and resource management. Post-2021 studies indicate that web-based GIS-RS platforms provide dynamic interactive and real-time geospatial data visualization and analysis enabling governments businesses and researchers to make informed decisions in urban planning environmental monitoring disaster management agriculture and public health. This research examines the design and development of such web-based systems focusing on system architecture database integration user interface design and the integration of GIS and RS data. The study explores contemporary software frameworks cloud computing platforms and visualization tools employed in web-based geospatial systems. Findings highlight that effective GIS-RS integration enhances data accuracy usability scalability and interoperability providing significant benefits in spatial decision-making processes. The research also addresses challenges such as data heterogeneity real-time processing cybersecurity and user accessibility. Recommendations emphasize the adoption of modular system architecture cloud-based solutions interactive visualization and machine learning integration to optimize system performance. This study contributes to the understanding of designing robust web-based GIS-RS information systems offering insights into technical operational and strategic considerations in post-2021 applications across various sectors.
