Abstract
Digital literacy has emerged as one of the most decisive enablers for inclusive economic growth in the twenty-first century reshaping development models labour markets social participation and the overall distribution of economic opportunities. In an increasingly digitised global economy the ability to access understand evaluate and utilise digital tools is no longer optional but essential for individuals communities and institutions. This study examines digital literacy as a core driver of inclusive economic growth focusing on how digital capabilities empower individuals to access financial services participate in digital markets enhance their employability and contribute to innovation-driven growth. The abstract highlights the role of digital literacy in bridging socio-economic divides by reducing traditional gender caste income and regional disparities that restrict economic participation. It also outlines the challenges associated with low digital readiness in developing countries including infrastructural constraints affordability gaps linguistic barriers limited ICT training and socio-cultural factors that restrict digital adoption. The abstract further emphasises how national strategies such as digital skilling programs affordable connectivity models digital-first governance and inclusive technology design can strengthen digital participation. The research expands on recent digital shifts in India and other emerging economies where rapid digitalisation has created new growth opportunities while also highlighting the need for sustainable digital literacy ecosystems. Overall this study argues that digital literacy is not only a technological competence but a socio-economic capability that determines access to modern livelihoods digital public services entrepreneurship prospects and economic mobility making it indispensable for inclusive and sustainable development.
