Economic Inequalities and Their Effects on Access to Justice in India

Abstract
Economic inequalities significantly impact access to justice in India creating a gap between marginalized communities and the legal system. While the Constitution of India guarantees equal rights and access to justice structural barriers like poverty illiteracy and systemic discrimination often hinder the realization of these rights. This paper explores the relationship between economic inequalities and access to justice analyzing the role of legal aid judiciary infrastructure and government policies. Through case studies and data analysis the study identifies critical challenges and proposes actionable recommendations to bridge the justice gap ensuring equity and fairness in the legal system.
