Employability Skills and Youth Aspirations in Indian Colleges

India is home to the world’s largest youth population and its higher education system plays a central role in shaping the future of its workforce. However the persistent gap between the education imparted in colleges and the demands of the labor market has raised critical concerns about employability. Employers frequently report that graduates lack essential soft skills technical expertise and problem-solving abilities even as millions of students aspire to secure meaningful jobs entrepreneurship opportunities and upward social mobility. The discourse on employability is therefore deeply connected with youth aspirations educational quality and socio-economic development.
