Author(s): Dr. Shabd Prakash

Abstract
This paper evaluates the efficacy of green governance in promoting environmental justice and equality. Green governance refers to institutional frameworks and policies aimed at integrating environmental sustainability into decision-making processes. By analyzing global case studies and policy implementations this research investigates how green governance can address environmental inequalities particularly affecting marginalized communities that bear the brunt of environmental degradation. The study highlights the relationship between environmental governance justice and equality exploring the effectiveness of inclusive participatory approaches in environmental policymaking. Key factors considered include the role of regulatory frameworks community engagement and the intersection of environmental and social justice. While green governance initiatives have made strides toward sustainability challenges such as unequal resource distribution limited access to environmental benefits and gaps in policy enforcement remain significant. The findings suggest that for green governance to be truly effective in advancing environmental justice it must adopt a multi-dimensional approach ensuring equitable access to resources and decision-making for all social groups. This requires addressing systemic inequalities fostering transparency and building resilient partnerships between governments civil society and local communities. Ultimately the paper argues that a more inclusive model of green governance is essential for advancing both environmental and social justice.
