How Delhi School Media Covers Environmental Studies

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to analyse how the media in Delhi have influenced environmental education programs. The study delves into the ways in which different media outlets portray environmental concerns and how these portrayals impact the teaching and learning of environmental studies in schools. These outlets include television newspapers social media and internet platforms. The research used a mixed-method approach conducting interviews with teachers and students from several Delhi schools in addition to analysing the content of environmental stories carried by major media sites. Results show that environmental concerns covered in the media are significantly related to those taught in classrooms. Discussions and readings in the classroom are highly reflective of media narratives especially those that focus on environmental issues global warming and sustainability. Teachers pedagogical tactics for incorporating environmental concerns highlighted in the media into their classes are also investigated in the research. There are pros and cons to using media to raise pupils environmental consciousness and they are both highlighted here. Some worry that the media may oversimplify complicated subjects or even propagate false information on occasion notwithstanding the potential advantages. In sum the findings call for a more sophisticated strategy to integrate media material into educational frameworks and highlight the significance of critical media literacy in environmental education. School curriculum should portray environmental challenges in a more fair and factual light according to the studys suggestions for lawmakers media producers and educators.
