HOW DELHI SCHOOL MEDIA COVERS ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES

Abstract
The role of school media in shaping awareness and attitudes towards environmental issues has gained increasing importance in contemporary educational discourse. With growing concerns over climate change pollution biodiversity loss and sustainable practices schools have become crucial platforms for initiating environmentally responsible behaviors among students. This research paper investigates how Delhi school media—encompassing school newspapers newsletters magazines digital portals and social media platforms—covers environmental studies and related issues. By analyzing content frequency thematic focus presentation style and pedagogical integration the study aims to determine the effectiveness depth and diversity of environmental coverage in school media. The research employs a mixed-method approach combining quantitative content analysis with qualitative assessments to evaluate narrative styles visual representation and engagement strategies. Special attention is given to identifying whether school media emphasizes global environmental concerns local ecological challenges or a blend of both and how effectively these narratives promote student participation in sustainable practices. The study also explores the potential gaps biases and limitations in environmental reporting providing recommendations to enhance media literacy environmental understanding and active student involvement.
