Abstract
Intergenerational value conflicts have become increasingly visible in contemporary Indian society due to rapid technological advancements changing career opportunities globalization urbanization and evolving social norms. Traditional Indian families have historically emphasized collective decision-making respect for elders stable career paths and adherence to social expectations. However younger generations are increasingly influenced by digital technologies individual aspirations global cultures and diverse career options. This transformation has created tensions between parents and children regarding technology usage educational choices professional ambitions lifestyle preferences and social relationships. The present study examines the nature and causes of intergenerational value conflicts in Indian families focusing specifically on technology career choices and social expectations. Through a sociological perspective the research explores how these conflicts influence family relationships communication patterns and decision-making processes. The study highlights the need for mutual understanding effective communication and adaptive family structures to bridge generational differences while preserving family cohesion in modern India.
