Author(s): Raj Kumar VashishthaAbstract
This worldwide environmental strategy provides a comprehensive framework to promote international cooperation and coordinated action in order to address some of the most critical environmental issues such as climate change biodiversity loss pollution and resource depletion. All countries must do their share to battle environmental deterioration which is a global issue that necessitates a coordinated international response. This plan is founded on that conviction. Key components of the strategy include the following: the development of renewable energy sources the preservation of ecosystems and endangered species the sustainable management of natural resources and the decrease of greenhouse gas emissions. Including environmental considerations in social and economic decision-making is a key component of the strategy for ensuring that development initiatives do not degrade the planet for future generations. A clear plan of action due date and methods to monitor report and enforce adherence are all laid out in the policy. Furthermore it encourages other organisations including governments NGOs corporations and civil society to participate thereby promoting an inclusive and multi-faceted approach to environmental governance. Recognising that industrialised and developing countries have different skills and responsibilities this policy seeks to address environmental concerns by encouraging international cooperation capacity building and financial aid to bridge the gap. By promoting creativity knowledge exchange and the adoption of best practices the policy aspires to build a world that can withstand and sustainably support all inhabitants.
