Fidelity theory traditionally associated with relational dynamics communication studies and trust mechanisms has played a central role in understanding how individuals organizations and institutions maintain integrity reliability and consistency over time. However contemporary societal technological and cultural shifts have revealed limitations and gaps in the classical formulations of fidelity theory necessitating critical reassessment. This research aims to reevaluate revise and reconstruct fidelity theory by examining its historical evolution foundational principles and practical applications in diverse modern contexts including interpersonal relationships digital communication platforms organizational governance and social media interactions. By integrating insights from sociology psychology communication studies and systems theory the study explores the multidimensional nature of fidelity encompassing emotional cognitive behavioral and structural dimensions. The research employs a combination of theoretical analysis case study evaluation and comparative literature review to identify inconsistencies theoretical gaps and areas for refinement. Moreover the study investigates how evolving norms technological mediation and global interconnectedness influence perceptions and enactments of fidelity. By proposing a revised multi-layered framework for fidelity theory the paper seeks to enhance its explanatory power applicability and relevance in addressing contemporary relational organizational and digital challenges contributing to both academic scholarship and practical interventions.
