Online Education and the Expansion of Social Inequality

Online education has revolutionized the global learning landscape offering accessibility flexibility and innovation in teaching methodologies. However while digital learning platforms promise democratization of education they have also exacerbated social inequalities particularly in developing nations like India. The digital divide economic disparities technological access and variations in educational infrastructure have widened the gap between privileged and marginalized communities. This research paper examines how online education instead of being an equalizing force has deepened existing inequalities. Through theoretical analysis and empirical case studies this paper explores the socio-economic dimensions of online education and its role in shaping educational inequality.
