Research on the Link Between Managers EQ and Staff Satisfaction

Abstract
The relationship between supervisors emotional intelligence (EQ) and employee satisfaction in the workplace is investigated in this research. Emotional intelligence also known as emotional quotient is the capacity to identify comprehend and control ones own and other peoples emotional states. The studys overarching goal is to find out if employees are happier and healthier when their bosses have greater EQ. Quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews were also used in the inquiry. Two hundred workers from different sectors had their emotional intelligence (EQ) evaluated using standardised instruments and their supervisors EQs were also recorded. Validated happiness and work satisfaction measures were used to gauge employee contentment. The results show that there is a strong correlation between supervisors emotional intelligence and employee satisfaction. Workers reported increased happiness and motivation when their supervisors had high emotional intelligence because they created a more supportive and understanding workplace. In order to boost workplace happiness organisations should incorporate EQ in their leadership development programs since the research suggests that emotional intelligence in leadership is crucial for employee well-being.
