Abstract
The increasing frequency and intensity of natural disasters have highlighted the urgent need for innovative approaches to disaster management. Social innovation facilitated by digital platforms has transformed the way communities prepare for respond to and recover from disasters. This research explores the role of digital platforms in enhancing community resilience with a focus on social innovation as a key driver of disaster preparedness and recovery. By examining case studies of digital solutions such as crowdsourced crisis mapping AI-driven early warning systems blockchain for transparent aid distribution and social media-driven emergency response networks the study analyzes how technology fosters real-time collaboration and effective disaster mitigation strategies. The findings reveal that while digital platforms significantly enhance coordination communication and resource allocation challenges such as misinformation digital divides and cybersecurity risks must be addressed to maximize their effectiveness. This study underscores the importance of integrating technology with community-driven resilience strategies advocating for policy frameworks that encourage public-private partnerships equitable digital access and data-driven decision-making in disaster management. The paper calls for a collaborative adaptive approach that ensures social innovation in disaster response aligns with ethical and sustainable practices ultimately strengthening communities against future disasters.
