Social Justice and the Ground-Level Impact of Welfare Schemes in India

Abstract
Social justice has long been a cornerstone of Indian democracy deeply enshrined in the Constitution and reflected in the state’s commitment to equality equity and dignity for all citizens. Welfare schemes form a central strategy through which governments attempt to translate constitutional promises into tangible improvements in the lives of marginalized groups. From food security programs and employment guarantees to health insurance schemes and educational scholarships welfare interventions aim to reduce poverty promote inclusion and address historical injustices of caste class gender and region.
