Abstract
Social security policies for women in India play a crucial role in ensuring their economic stability health and overall well-being. Women particularly those from marginalized communities face significant socio-economic challenges that necessitate strong governmental interventions. Over the years India has implemented several welfare schemes such as the Maternity Benefit Programme Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and various pension schemes aimed at improving the social and financial security of women. This research paper evaluates these policies analyzing their effectiveness coverage and accessibility. Additionally the role of social security in enhancing womens empowerment and participation in the workforce is critically examined. The paper also highlights gaps in existing policies such as inadequate implementation lack of awareness and exclusionary factors affecting vulnerable groups. Finally recommendations are provided to strengthen these policies and ensure their efficient execution for the benefit of women across diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
