Studying the Fears and Dogmas of Urban Women
Author(s): Tapesh Sinha

Abstract
Examining the intersection of these psychological and behavioral features in the context of urban life this research delves into the link between anxiety and dogmatism among metropolitan women. In order to get qualitative insights we used a mixed-methods approach and surveyed 300 women living in urban areas. Additionally we interviewed 30 participants in-depth. There is a strong relationship between anxiety and dogmatism according to our results. It seems that increased stress may lead to a deeper dependence on dogmatic views as a coping technique since women with higher levels of anxiety exhibited more rigid and inflexible belief systems. The study also shows that city living with its hectic pace and social demands might make these characteristics worse. Urban planning and support services should prioritize mental health and belief systems according to the report which calls for programs to help city dwellers cope with anxiety and develop more cognitive flexibility.
