SUPPORTING STUDENTS IN INDIAS SCHOOLS

Abstract
Supporting students in India’s schools remains a critical focus for educational policymakers administrators and teachers due to the country’s vast demographic diversity regional disparities and evolving socio-economic challenges. While significant progress has been made in terms of enrollment and access students continue to face barriers that affect learning outcomes retention and holistic development. These challenges include inadequate infrastructure insufficient teacher training language diversity socio-economic constraints and limited access to digital and experiential learning resources. This research paper aims to investigate the multiple dimensions of student support in Indian schools encompassing academic emotional social and technological assistance. The study employs a mixed-methods approach combining policy analysis stakeholder interviews and observational research to identify best practices and persistent gaps. Emphasis is placed on understanding how government initiatives non-governmental interventions school-level programs and teacher strategies interact to enhance student engagement learning achievement and inclusive education. The research further explores the role of counseling services remedial education and digital tools in mitigating disparities and promoting equitable access. By presenting a comprehensive analysis of supporting mechanisms the study offers actionable insights for policymakers and educators to strengthen the effectiveness of school-based support systems across India.
