Abstract
The concept of toxic masculinity has gained significant attention in sociological and psychological discourses particularly in the context of gender roles and patriarchal structures. In India where traditional masculinity is deeply intertwined with cultural religious and historical narratives the idea of toxic masculinity manifests in multiple ways impacting gender relations mental health and social expectations. This paper explores the origins and evolution of toxic masculinity in Indian society its implications for both men and women and the ways in which it influences social structures violence and gender dynamics. Through an analysis of literature media representations and contemporary debates this study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of toxic masculinity and its societal repercussions in the Indian context.
