The Impact of Indian Knowledge Systems on Contemporary Social and Political Ideologies

The ancient ideas scriptures and cultural practices of Indian knowledge systems have had a profound impact on contemporary social and political thinking both inside India and outside. This study examines the significant influence of fundamental notions such as Dharma (ethical obligation) Artha (material well-being) Kama (personal desires) and Moksha (spiritual liberation) on present-day social and political beliefs. The analysis is on how ancient literature such as the Vedas Upanishads and Arthashastra influence contemporary discussions on government ethics and social justice. The study also emphasizes the influence of Indian knowledge systems on the ideologies of influential Indian leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Their philosophies have played a crucial role in the formation of contemporary political frameworks including non-violence social equality and constitutionalism. In addition the research examines the incorporation of these conventional concepts into worldwide political ideology namely in domains such as environmental morality sustainable progress and global fairness. This study contends that a reassessment of ancient Indian wisdom is necessary in order to recognize its significance in providing valuable insights for tackling current social and political difficulties. This may be achieved by analyzing how this knowledge has been preserved and adapted in modern situations. The lasting significance of Indian knowledge systems highlights their capacity to contribute to more comprehensive and culturally aware approaches to contemporary government and social well-being.
