Abstract
Ancient Indian trade routes played a pivotal role in shaping the economic cultural and geopolitical landscape of the Indian subcontinent and beyond. The Silk Route the Spice Route and various inland and maritime trade networks facilitated the exchange of goods ideas and technologies influencing civilizations across Asia Africa and Europe. While these trade routes have undergone significant transformation due to modern economic developments their historical influence continues to impact contemporary trade patterns economic policies and regional connectivity. This research paper explores the present economic impact of these ancient trade routes analyzing their role in shaping India’s international trade infrastructural projects and global economic positioning. By drawing parallels between historical trade networks and current economic policies such as India’s Act East Policy Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and regional connectivity projects this paper highlights how India continues to leverage its historical trade legacy in the modern global economy.
