Abstract
The rise of social media has revolutionized political communication worldwide transforming the way election campaigns are conducted and perceived. Platforms such as Facebook Twitter (now X) Instagram and WhatsApp have become central to how parties mobilize voters shape narratives and influence public opinion. In India with its vast and diverse electorate social media has emerged as a powerful medium that cuts across geography language and class while also raising critical questions about misinformation polarization and the quality of democracy.
