Abstract
India recognises sustainable development as a crucial principle which involves the careful management of economic progress while ensuring the protection of the environment. Indias growing industrialisation and urbanisation have resulted in notable environmental issues such as air and water pollution deforestation and the loss of biodiversity. This abstract analyses the interaction between sustainable development and environmental management in India with a specific emphasis on the efficacy of policies and methods in fostering ecological equilibrium. Indias approach to sustainable development includes several significant projects such as the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC). The NAPCC sets out policies to reduce the impact of climate change and improve sustainability. The nations environmental policies are specifically formulated to tackle concerns like as trash disposal adoption of sustainable energy sources and preservation of natural resources. In addition India has developed many initiatives to encourage the use of environmentally-friendly technology and sustainable agriculture methods. Notwithstanding these endeavours obstacles persist including insufficient implementation of rules restricted public awareness and the need for more thorough and unified strategies. To ensure the success of Indias environmental policies it is crucial to tackle these concerns and promote stronger cooperation among the government industry and civil society. Ultimately achieving sustainable development in India requires a comprehensive strategy that effectively balances economic progress with responsible environmental management. India can achieve its objectives of environmental sustainability and socio-economic development by improving policy implementation advocating for sustainable practices and fostering stakeholder participation.
