The interaction between sustainability environmental management and the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) provides a distinctive framework for tackling current ecological concerns. The Indian Knowledge System derived from ancient knowledge and traditions encompasses concepts of environmental stewardship that highlight the interdependence of all living beings and the inherent worth of nature. This study examines how classical Indian philosophies such as the principles of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the belief that the universe is one family) and Prakriti (nature) provide comprehensive strategies for environmental management that are in line with contemporary sustainability objectives. The research emphasises the significance of Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS) in promoting sustainable development via the analysis of historical texts indigenous traditions and modern applications. Additionally it explores the possibility of integrating IKS with contemporary environmental policies and technology in order to develop robust and flexible management approaches. The study contends that the Indian Knowledge System provides significant perspectives on sustainable living and resource management fostering a harmonious and morally upright connection with the environment. In the end the combination of ancient wisdom with contemporary science has the potential to provide creative solutions for attaining global sustainability goals.
