Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Indian Economy

This paper examines the growing role of youth entrepreneurship and innovation in shaping the Indian economy particularly in the decade between 2015 and 2025. India with one of the largest youth populations in the world has witnessed a surge of entrepreneurial initiatives led by young innovators in sectors ranging from information technology to agriculture and renewable energy. Start-up culture supported by government initiatives such as Start-up India Stand-up India and Atal Innovation Mission has created a favorable ecosystem for youth-led ventures. The paper analyzes the drivers of youth entrepreneurship the contribution of innovation to economic growth and the challenges faced by young entrepreneurs including financing regulatory hurdles and digital divides. Drawing upon case studies policy frameworks and scholarly research it argues that youth entrepreneurship is not only an engine of job creation but also a force for social transformation and inclusive development in India’s rapidly evolving economy.
